Great place & location.
Lovely big warm room & shower room. Whole of East Wing building was heated. Bedding & towels were excellent. Central Cardigan, shops, restaurants, river activities on doorstep. Great breakfast. Secure parking, if a little tight to access!
No Kettle in our room, or TV! Wardrobe was unable to house normal width clothes hangers, so our clothes were outside the wardrobe! Room not serviced daily, had to strip our own bedding. Reception said all this was being changed to a single room booking hotel rather than an AirBnb house, just not when we were there!

Pleasant
Quality and variety of food was very good
explain in your literature that accomodation was not suitable for people with restricted mobility. The building in the literature infers that it is the hotel. It is a museum so quite misleading.

Some issues but worth it for the experience of staying in a castle.
Staying in a castle was great fun. Heritage Room was small but clean and comfortable. Cooked breakfast was good. No need to pay extra for the large breakfast as the standard was quite sufficient. Mannucci's Italian Restaurant over the road from the pedestrian gate was first class. Another time I would try one of the Ty Castell rooms.
We struggled to find the car park entrance through the castle walls. We should have watched the video they sent us in advance! Other couples spoke of the problems finding the entrance. It was quite bonding. If approaching over the bridge from the south follow the directions for if you miss the entrance first time around ie go right round the walls until you are nearly back at the bridge. Aim to arrive in the light. We were in the East Wing which also functions as a self catering cottage. This means that there is no tea and coffee making in the room, you have to go downstairs to the kitchen to make morning tea. It all felt a bit strange. However the kitchen was fully equipped if you wanted to cook or get a takeaway. The email confirming the booking said it was a "premium- ensuite- heritage" room. It wasn't 'premium' so far as I could see though it was en suite and a heritage room being in the old Georgian house. The man on reception couldn't tell me what was 'Premium' either. Having to enter a code to exit the grounds could have been problematic if there was a need to exit the castle in a hurry at night though the fire muster point was inside the curtain walls so must have been passed by the fire authorities as safe.
