  Spoiled by unprofessional handling of taxes

  The attic room is actually nice and pretty.

  - Minor detail: as others have pointed out, there is no blind or curtain on the window near the bed, making it very bright in the morning. Also good to be aware: « free parking » is really « free parking if you are lucky enough to find a spot in front of the house », which you need to be lucky to find indeed. - The handling of the additional taxes was completely unacceptable. This is a self-check-in property: there was no host present and the key was collected from a lockbox. We were never given an opportunity or a practical way to pay the additional charges(city tax) during our stay. After checkout, however, the property contacted us asking us to make a bank transfer to pay them — meaning, in our case, arranging an international bank transfer from abroad for a very small amount. - which would involve bank fees for me far larger than the amount due! Even more concerning, the amount requested did not correspond to the amount shown in our Booking.com reservation. Booking listed 48 RON in additional taxes/fees, whereas the property asked us to transfer 58 RON, with no explanation for the difference. What I found particularly irritating was the suggestion that this was something we had “forgotten” to pay. We did not forget anything: the property never provided a means to pay it in the first place. It is the accommodation’s responsibility to have a workable system for collecting charges from guests, not the guest’s responsibility to arrange an international bank transfer after leaving the country. I had absolutely no objection to paying any legitimate tax or fee due. My objection is to the property’s disorganized and unprofessional way of collecting it, the unexplained discrepancy in the amount, and then making the inconvenience sound like the guest’s mistake. A very poor way to handle what should have been an extremely simple administrative matter.

  Great stay

  The price, the room itself, the furniture, the Air-conditioning, the TV, the size of the room and its design were all very good. Even the landlord was responsive, understanding and eager to help. I see many people talking about the morning light coming through the window, wasn't a problem for us at all.

  As was already mentioned by someone else, there wasn't a shower gel or shampoo. One downside was that there isn't a stove, because we wanted to cook a little, but I guess normal people don't do that on vacation. Getting upstairs or downstairs, you have to enter the kitchens of the other floor renters, that felt a little awkward.
