  Exceptional location, but disappointing comfort and service for the price

  The location and décor of this apartment are excellent. It would be hard to find somewhere closer to the sea! It is perfectly situated in the heart of the beautiful village of Câmara de Lobos, yet on a relatively quiet street, away from the busiest areas. And the attention to detail in the styling and décor is excellent

  Unfortunately, despite its charm and exceptional location, several aspects of our stay were disappointing, especially at almost €400 per night. Parking: The listing clearly advertises free street parking (screenshot attached). However, when I asked about it, the lady from the management agency insisted I was mistaken and appeared annoyed that we had not mentioned our parking needs in advance. She directed us to a paid car park costing €5 per night, about 10 minutes away when including access and driving out. Keys and entrance: We had to arrive at the exact agreed time to meet someone from the management agency, leaving us little flexibility. As two couples, we requested a second key. The lady initially resisted, but after I insisted, consulted the owner and provided one, immediately warning us of a €50 loss fee. Not the warmest welcome! The gate’s code system failed, leaving us to keep it open or lock it with a key. When I raised this, the owner responded unpleasantly, insisting it worked perfectly despite the agency’s contradictory instructions. These easily avoidable situations revealed poor communication between the agency and owner, contradictory information and an unhelpful attitude. Comfort: The beds are narrow and the mattresses not comfortable. Attention to detail: No shower gel, only a German shampoo apparently left by a previous guest, dirty and damaged soap dispensers, and almost no washing-up liquid (photos). We even had to buy our own shower gel. Individually, these may seem minor issues, but together they reflect a disappointing lack of attention to guests' comfort. At almost €400 per night, beautiful decoration and a fantastic location are not enough. We expected accurate information, comfortable facilities, thoughtful details and a welcoming attitude. It's a real shame, because the apartment has enormous potential. Better communication, greater attention to detail and a more professional approach would make a significant difference.
