Hard bed and lack of sleep spoilt it
Great location close to the train station if you’re doing a lot of day trips, not far from the arena either. The Migross supermarket is 15 minutes walk away, it's the cheapest one around in my opinion, or there's a Conad slightly closer in San Zeno, both are a decent size. Yes the arena is 20 minutes walk away but it's a pretty walk past the castle etc so it feels shorter. Spacious kitchen, plenty of room for suitcases, water was reliably hot, lots of plug sockets. I liked that there were plenty of clear surfaces in every room to put things down on too. Everything was clean and functional! Check-in instructions were sent with photos which was helpful (although the wrong drawer was shown in our photo which confused us for a while trying to open the wrong lockbox, so make sure to use the drawer on the side your door is on regardless of what the photo shows!). It was nice to be left a water bottle in the fridge and some coffee. Good powerful hairdryer in the bathroom too!
An iron would have been very useful; instead we had to wet our clothes and hang them on the heated towel rail two or three items at a time to get the creases out, which was quite time-consuming. More than a single towel each would have been nice too. Weird sink in the bathroom; the tap is so heavy it can’t cope with its own weight and so collapses and turns itself off when you’re trying to use it, which is irritating. Had trouble getting reliable WiFi in the bedroom, it was fine in the kitchen but I kept losing the connection any further away. The bed was very hard and was difficult for me to sleep on so I didn't get much rest, even after folding up a spare blanket underneath me to make it softer. It was actually so uncomfortable that my boyfriend had to give up and sleep on the couch instead (which folds out into a sofabed but that mattress was also quite hard, so he slept on the couch itself because the sofa cushions were the only surface comfortable enough). Odd because we stayed at several other places on this trip with no issues, every other bed was lovely and comfy; this was the only place where the bed was so uncomfortable my boyfriend had to sleep on a sofa for 5 nights and I had to sleep on a pile of blankets, as if we were roughing it at a sleepover instead of having paid hundreds of pounds for a decent apartment - maybe time to get a new mattress!
