  Top pick for a two bedroom apartment in centre of Ortigia

  Casa Daphne was a fabulous base. It’s in the centre of the old town, yet in a quieter alley. The hosts are warm and generous. We all slept well and the bathrooms are freshly renovated. The kitchen is well equipped. We relaxed on the terrace as the sun set each evening.

  Good central location, wonderful hosts.

  Very helpful hosts. Very welcoming, home made cake, fizz, on arrival and well stocked kitchen. Very central but quiet location. 2 nice bathrooms , Lovely sun terrace.

  This is a very nice apartment, perfectly located in Ortigia and quiet with access to a terrace on the roof where you can watch the sunset over the sea and the "skyline" of Ortigia in front and boats in between. It is rare nowadays to be welcomed personally and to recieve all sorts of information personally by Mario and Jacopo. Only going by car would be difficult which applies to the whole of Ortigia. We travelled by train, a 20 minutes walk from the train station. The flat is equipped will all one needs including all sorts of drinks including selfmade Limoncello which tastes quite well. (and even a bottle of Jägermeister which I consider more of a joke since I don't even drink this stuff at home) and different sorts of coffee and tee and pasta etc. for free disposal. Attention was payed to every small detail in the flat, like 2 different hairdryers, adaptors and even umbrellas were present. Unfortunately rain was not provided despite the ability of the Sicilians to try to solve any problem or to know someone who can do it, but I could see that the Sicilians are different from other italians in terms of hospitality despite lots of tourists. We live in Austria 40 km away to the border to Italy, to Venezia Friuli. We (a family with 2 children) enjoyed are stay of 3 nights after having been at Palermo and Cefalù. Every place in Sicily we have seen so far has its own character and a different unique history transmitted on to the people.

  Perfect in every way.

  One of the best properties we’ve stayed at. The hosts were amazing. There is absolutely nothing that they could have done better. Great location.

  Absolutely everything! Perfect location, everything exactly as described (or better) and the most welcoming, generous and friendly hosts we have had in years of travelling all over Europe as a family. Nothing too much trouble, communication from initial booking to our goodbyes was perfect - Mario and Jacopo truly made it feel like their wonderful apartment was “home” for our few days in Ortigia.

  Genuinely could not criticise a thing.
