    I’ve stayed in places that were more luxurious, more comfortable, and more spacious—but I’ve never stayed anywhere quite as special as this. It’s essentially a charming farmhouse surrounded by a beautiful, well-maintained garden and plenty of open space. There are kittens outside, which our children absolutely loved—we even bought some cat food for them. There is also a small and lovely playground, a barbecue area that we didn’t get a chance to use, and a fire pit where I roasted marshmallows with the children twice. We had a little trouble finding the place, but the hosts were incredibly kind and actually came to meet us and personally guided us all the way to the house. Another big advantage for a family is that the house has three bathrooms, which is much more than you usually find.

    If I absolutely had to mention one downside, it would be my wife—she wouldn’t let me fire up the barbecue 😄
