NICE property....check with host about broken road status

Lovely property surrounded by mountain ranges, friendly and responsive hostess, great breakfast with eggs to order, cheese, fresh fruit, juice and coffee... lots of beautiful native murals on walls.

The road leading from town square to property was completely torn up making it impossible to roll luggage, needing carrying, and impossible for vehicle like taxi or uber to pick up from front. Particularly challenging when adapting to 8,000+ feet elevation, late night train arrival AND lack of tuktuk to take us close from train station. Be sure to check with host if coming with luggage and late at night. Would be helpful if they sent photo or diagram of shorter broken path to take because Spanish translation was not informative enough when new to a place and late at night. Also it would have been nice if someone greeted us at entrance as we had communicated with them 2 ladies arriving after 11p and concerned. There were hundreds of light bugs attracted to bedside lamp, and I spent the night wracking them as didn’t want to be bitten while sleeping.... only for hostess to tell me next day they don't bite. Overall, better UPFRONT communication would enhance guest experience as I chose this property to chill after tough Machu Picchu hike. Nonetheless I gave 9/10 score. Be informed that they do not speak English. And oh.... they charge extra if paying by credit card.
