  Extremely disappointed with our stay at this Villa! Ferrieres is charming and a good base to travel

  Wasp infestation around the pool area rendering the space unusable for majority of the stay. Pool dirty with debris, stained tiles, mildew water. A very unpleasant smell in the kitchen and despite a further clean by the maintenance company it did not dissipate. Ate out as refused to use. We cannot prove it but lower ground to the villa is not included as is the garage as used by the owner. The rear door to this area has a cat flap and the cat is around the pool. This doesn’t feel private ‘entirely yours’ as advertised space.

  A nice stay with a few small hiccups but lots of positives.

  The place is in a small village right in the middle of the island, super quiet and really easy to get anywhere from. The house was clean, had everything we needed (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, ironing stuff, etc.), and it felt really cozy with its own character. The pool area was nice, but the weather wasn’t warm enough to make the most of it. One of the beds was broken when we arrived, but the staff came really quickly and fixed it, so no big deal.

  An additional bathroom would have been useful, as the house has 4 bedrooms but only 3 bathrooms. Another downside is that there is no parking on the property, and the nearest public parking is about 600m away. We also experienced an unpleasant incident: the cleaning staff entered without prior notice (no message from the managing agency on that day or beforehand) and changed our towels while we were away. Unfortunately, one of our group members had left his wallet in the room, and upon our return, €150 was missing. When I reported this to the agency, their response showed no empathy and they offered no solution. I would strongly recommend being cautious with any valuables left in the rooms when you are not present.
