    The views from the terrace are absolutely stunning, it's a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the changing light and the views over to Etna. It's worth getting up at sunrise for the best views of Etna. Great location too: very central and close to good restaurants, the iconic Bam Bar, the Greek theatre and the beautiful park.

    Kitchen and bathroom a bit outdated. The lightswitches make a disconcerting high pitched sound, and there was a slight smell of gas.

    Disappointing stay! Definitely not 4*

    The location was fine and handy for town and restaurants.

    There are 76 steps to reach the terrace. When you get to the top the view is mainly hidden by the house in front, complete with satellite dish and barking dog. See pics.There are no sun loungers and chairs had leaky foam cushions. The shower is old, small and mouldy with a shower head not seen since the 60’s, and flops down when you use it. If you drop your soap there is no room to pick it up unless you want to take out the side of the shower. Kitchen utensils are cheap and sparse - no bread knife. The kettle, microwave and coffee machine all use the same socket one at a time. Saucepan was horrible, burnt offerings at the bottom. Bed linen and towels - in a muddy green - have all seen better days. Light bulbs missing in crucial places - kitchen and bathroom. Gas cylinder ran out and we had to wait in for replacement- one and a half hours. Who on earth gave this a four star rating?
