  An unacceptable, exhausting and extremely stressful experience.

  **An Unacceptable Experience – We Lost Hours of Our Holiday in Extreme Heat** Our experience started with what seemed to be a good first impression, but unfortunately turned into one of the most stressful and disappointing situations we have ever experienced while travelling. The owner was initially polite and helped us carry our luggage up the many stairs leading to the apartment. Unfortunately, this was the only positive first impression. When we arrived at the apartment, during an extreme heatwave with temperatures of around 40°C, we discovered that the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms **was not working at all and was not producing cold air**. There was also **no air conditioning whatsoever in the common areas, including the kitchen**. What made the situation even more surprising was that, despite knowing that we would be arriving during such extreme temperatures, none of the air conditioners had been turned on before our arrival to make the apartment at least reasonably comfortable. As soon as we discovered the problem, we called the owner, and he returned approximately 15 minutes later. However, instead of immediately acknowledging the problem and offering us a genuinely equivalent solution, he tried to convince us that the air conditioner was essentially fine, even though it was obvious that **it was not producing cold air**. His first “solution” was for us to stay in the apartment and for him to bring us a fan. We honestly wondered how he believed that a fan could replace a functioning air conditioner in a bedroom when temperatures outside were around 40°C. He then told us that perhaps he could find someone the following day, which was a Saturday, to come and inspect the air conditioner. In other words, we were expected to spend the night in a bedroom without working air conditioning and wait until the following day to see whether someone could be found to repair it.   Great accommodation for two couples in Lecce!

  Generally, everything was great. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped, with two separate rooms, one with an en-suite bathroom. It was very clean, which is very important to me. The air conditioning was working fine, and the location was very close to the old city at a distance of a short, pleasant walk. The host was helpful and accessible. We would surely recommend this place and would happily stay here again if we come back to Lecce.

  The only issue (but probably not related to the host) was the low water pressure in the shower, but as a whole it did not affect our stay and opinion.

  We were 3 female adults and our stay in Lecce was made very pleasant while at Casa Midori!!

  The location is great! ! Within a residential area and a very short walk to the historic centre with its many restaurants, caffès and shops. The train station is a short distance away… 15 euros for 2 passengers with luggage. It was very comfortable and clean. All essentials provided. The host was extremely gracious and helpful. I recommend Casa Midori fully!! An excellent stay in Lecce!!
