  A perfect family holiday with young children — peaceful, relaxing, and away from touristy areas

  It's a beautiful little villa and was the perfect setting for our family holiday – loved equally by us as parents, the grandparents and our young children. It's very quiet and secluded, tucked away in the hills next to a lovely little village. The villa itself is extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished and very well equipped – it far exceeded what we'd normally expect from a holiday villa. We also felt very safe given the electronic gates. Our host was also extremely helpful and welcoming. He doesn't speak English and we don't speak much Spanish, but we managed absolutely fine using translation. On arrival, we met him at a nearby restaurant and then followed him by car to the villa, which made finding it very easy. The location is ideal if you're looking to properly switch off and relax away from the usual tourist areas. There's a steep walk from the villa up to the road, but from there you're very close to the village, which has a park, several restaurants, small local supermarkets and a butcher. The grandparents (mid-70s) and our 5-year old managed it, so you can too! It's all very local and authentic, so be prepared to use Google Translate if, like us, your Spanish is limited! The heated pool was fantastic, particularly with young children, and the outdoor bar area is a really cool addition and a lovely place to spend the evenings. We'd strongly recommend hiring a car, as it makes navigating the hills, shopping and exploring the surrounding area much easier. We also did a beach day at Algarrobo, which was around a 40-minute drive, and found Uber worked very well in the area too. Overall, a wonderful place for a peaceful family holiday, especially if you want somewhere comfortable and secluded away from the busier tourist spots.

  A small electricity issue where some of the lights flickered and/or didn't turn on, and this affected the fridge too. Didn't negatively impact our experience, and I'm sure it will be fixed for future guests.

  I have been looking for the perfect villa ever since Casa Rafa closed down. I believe I have finally

  The location was perfect. Close enough to walk into the town. Remote enough to be delightfully peaceful. It's a bit of a hill at first but I'm in my sixties - and no athlete - and easily managed it. Lots of villas claim they are only 'x kilometers from the town' but that's often misleading. This one though, I was able to stroll to the nearest restaurant in 12 minutes. The equipment was plentiful too - oven and hob, washing machine, iron, coffe maker, kettle, microwave, air fryer, pretty much anything you could need. There's a hot tub and a lovely pool. Plenty of loungers (including two covered ones for when the sun gets too hot). I really couldn't fault this place

  There's a path down to Archez too (if you want to sample a different town), which is great - but the top part is a bit tricky to navigate. That said, this isn't on the owners property so there's not much he could have done about that really

  Perfect stay.Lovely Villa
