  La maison est vraiment tres bien équipée, tres propre, tout est bien pensé ! La maison se trouve dans un quartier résidentiel calme. Les hôtes sont tres agréables également. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés !

  Beautiful Cozy Home, Avoid Husband of the Host

  The property itself is beautiful and cozy, and they even left a couple of extra bottles of wine and beer, which was a super nice touch. But honestly, our experience with the hosts was something else.

  We booked this as a three-bedroom house, expecting to have access to all the rooms. When we arrived, though, only one bedroom was open, which was confusing. We reached out to see if this was a mistake and to get the other rooms unlocked. That’s when things took a weird turn. The hosts insisted on a video call with her husband, supposedly because they didn’t speak English but I didn’t get that impression. My girlfriend, who’s from Portugal and fluent in Portuguese, handled the call at their request. But it turns out the wife speaks English and French, and the husband has a mix of Portuguese and French, though he mostly stuck to Portuguese. The husband kept demanding to know why we wanted the other bedrooms open. I’m not kidding—he asked us at least seven times! No matter what answer we gave, he didn’t seem satisfied and almost refused to believe we’d actually want the space we paid for. The conversation quickly became uncomfortable. He was dismissive, talking down to us, raising his finger to cut us off mid-sentence, and came off as extremely rude. My girlfriend and I were genuinely shocked by how confrontational he was, to the point where we had to call her family afterward just to process what had happened and make sure we weren’t overreacting ourselves. In the end, they did open up the rooms, and we got an apology message, but even that repeated their “curiosity” about why we wanted the whole place. Look, we booked a three-bedroom house, so that’s what we expected to use—simple as that. The house itself? Great. But dealing with the host’s husband was a headache we could’ve done without. Wife was nice and shouldn’t let him near guests. Sorry for the rant but he deserves to hear it.
