Meeting Ana was the best part—everything else was just icing on the cake.
The home is traditional and showcases beautiful cultural aspects of Muramureş. Ana was so lovely, and we enjoyed getting to talk with her. We would recommend the half-board option just for that reason alone, but she is also an amazing cook, and the food was delicious! The room itself was great. Despite being traditional, it was filled with all of the amenities that Americans like us would expect, and the shower was pretty neat. Outside the house, they had set up a traditional water well, a nice handmade swinging bench, and a large bale of hay (again, set up traditionally). This is a great house if you want to immerse yourself in the culture of Maramureş, or just to have a retreat away from the normal rhythms of life. The town of Breb, small and quaint, was a breath of fresh air to walk around in. Maybe a little touristy in spots, but still very rural Maramureş. We enjoyed visiting the local woodcarver.
We have no bad things to say about the property. It was lovely.

The perfect stay in Maramureş!
Authentic house with the kindest host, Anisoara. Can’t recommend this place enough . If you come to Breb, Casa Veche is the place to be. We will come back for sure :)
