Love Castaways! Super Friendly, Helpful, Professional Service! Rooms are beautiful! We'll be back!
Everything was great! Love the place the entire Island! Castaways is awesome!!! Beautiful! We love it, we have been before but still forgot the 3pm dinner cut off time thing. :) We like to camp and come stay at Castaways for our last night on Moreton. Love all the community area, that's fantastic. Love the rooms! I love those bedside tables with shelves! Where did you get them! I have looked for something like that since we stayed there 2 years ago and have never seen them anywhere. Love the shop! Love that you do great coffees! Love the souvenirs'! Love the ice machine singing to us when it works. :) Love the grounds! Staff are fantastic!! We will be back!!
Just two things. 1, We wish we were more aware of the dinner cut off time being 3pm. Yes you do have signs up, we paid more attention after it was too late for us (our bad) we thought we had till 4.30. What would be great is if the staff mention it, we were chatting to them a couple of times when we came in, we had 16 days on Moreton. Could pre-ordering & pay for meals be an option? And if so, have the staff talk about it with us. Maybe most people are prepared for dinner with their own things but we wanted to just order a meal. Our friends we were camping with did have a bit of an emergency and husband had to leave the island for medical reasons leaving his wife and us to pack up their camp with a slide on. (That was fun... not) :) After packing up the two camps we drove to Bulwer, the wife then had to go hunting to find a house some friends said she was able to stay at for the night (she felt $200 for one of your rooms was a bit expensive) so this made us late (finding the house) and didn't get to Castaways till 3.30 so we missed dinner. It would be great if we could have pre-ordered and paid in advance and on the day staff could put our meal in the communal fridge with Name/Room number on it and we could just heat it in the microwave later. We know next time we come we will ask if we can do this because 3.00 is early and in case for some reason we can't make it before 3pm again. 2. It would be great if there was a small bar fridge in the rooms, even a very small bar fridge. I can perhaps imagine the reasons why you don't, but this would be so good. We had 2 fridges plus gear on top to fit everything, having a fridge in the room would be so much easier.

The property is lovely, and there’s a shop with all the basics you need. The restaurant is great and provides breakfast and lunch. In the evening, you need to cook for yourself in the common kitchen, which is fully equipped with everything you need, including a BBQ. We also really loved the hospitality of the staff Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful!

Perfect home away from home.
Location of accommodation is perfect - very close to the beach. The place itself is leafy and very beautiful with lots of different birds. We stayed in a one-bedroom tent/cabin which had a comfortable bed and private bathroom was great. A little courtyard had a fire pit which was wonderful for evenings get together. Would definitely stay there again. Beautiful location and friendly staff.
The convenient store/cafe was nice, but I would suggest having different sizes of coffee on order and the wood we bought for fire was wet, not sure if it's not kept properly or if this was the only bag that was damp.
