    Eventful & disappointing

    The fact that we could park the motorcycles securely outside the property with electric gates was ideal, especially with motorbike thefts on the increase.

    The fact that for the first two days we could not cook anything as every time we used a kitchen appliance: oven / microwave the whole houses electric tripped out. The first night was apparently down to an issue with the electric company- although we don’t know what the issue was, but we were told it would be sorted in a ‘few minutes’ so we waited & tried again … well let’s just say we went to bed that day having eat nothing ! The next day was the same thing , we got all the way to 1700 hrs , trying every hour & was told by the owner that an electrician was on the way! Which we now feel was a ‘fob off ‘ as no electrician was ever turning up . Apparently the owner called ‘his’ electrician & was advised that the electric was ok . But it wasn’t until I’d called the owner out on it : he’d said the electrician was there at the property & it would be sorted in a few minutes’ only I’d stayed in all day & no one had turned up. So when I was told “it’s ok” I tried the easiest thing to check - the kettle & the electric went off again. By this time we were getting frustrated as it takes 30 minutes for the electric to reboot every time it trips . Anyway after waiting a while for the owner to reply we were told to try another appliance & leave the kettle unplugged. It finally worked. We were able to cook something for the first time at 2000 hrs on day two of three. So not real value for money when you put in prospective the overall cost of the property & the fact that we’d bought food for 3 evening meals & we ended up having to bin two thirds of it ( which we do not like wasting anything) as we could not carry much on the motorbike & no sort of refund was offered by the owner.
