Awesome stay in Ohakune
Large house in Ohakune - kids loved it. We had a great stay.

Great location, house was beautiful and clean, the fire place warmed the house well. The house also featured 2 heat pumps which were great!! the loft was my favourite part, such a beautiful design!
Unfortunately the wifi was out for 1 of the days, obviously this wasn't a planned event by the hosts but it was a little frustrating as we couldn't use the tv!

Great location but unsatisfied
It's a great location
We are generally not fussy guests, but when travelling with children, we do expect basic amenities, safety and maintenance to be taken care of. Unfortunately, there were several issues during our stay. The ensuite had no extraction fan, toilet spray or bath plug, making it difficult to bathe the children. There was also no hairdryer. We were told the previous one had disappeared and a replacement would arrive in two weeks — not much help for current guests. The long bench at the dining table also felt unstable. We discovered it was missing a support underneath and had a significant crack through the seat, which was concerning with young children around. The kitchen sink plug then shattered, and the dishwasher had no rinse aid. An empty rinse-aid bottle was left in the cupboard, which was of little use. The front door handle literally pulls out of the lock mechanism which made it very difficult to open and close, especially when hands are full! We tried to send photos of these issues but were unable to do so through the messaging system. Despite asking for an alternative way to send them, none was provided. The property itself has some lovely features, but the number of basic maintenance and amenity issues was disappointing. We hope the owners/managers take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding safety and ensuring the property is properly equipped before guests arrive.

Pleasant Stay
Clear instructions of getting to property and accessing lockbox. There was bountiful of wood that was provided which we definitely put to use.
Unless you stay on a Sunday or Monday, the property makes you dispose of the rubbish yourself. The instructions were to either take it home with you or to take it to the local disposal, and if not, an extra charge will be applied - this is an awful expectation and no guest should have to do this.
