    A High and Handsome Home That Deserves Better Management

    We liked the location which faced Piazza Mateotti. it's close to major landmarks, bars, restaurants and shopping. The staff member who gave us the keys was friendly, warm and helpful in communicating issues. The spacious apartment is attractive, comfortable and full of interesting artistic touches. The long couch in the living room promotes naps to the sound of piazza activity and a good view of the historical architectural features.

    Perhaps there had not been guests in the apartment for some time. The place suffers from a broken toilet seal, emitting noxious fumes into the apartment. When we reported it we were informed that the odor was normal as the weather becomes cooler. It was never addressed. There were lights out on the steep stairway to the bedrooms which were a major safety hazard. They were addressed the day after we reported them. We were not told about the major renovation happening next door during until we had paid for the nonrefundable booking. The welcome booklet is a curt list of what not to do. The text including instructions for providing our documents had the same demanding tone. The apartment’s description included information about its location on the 3rd floor, which is actually the 4th floor to those of us from the USA, without an elevator. Accessing the bathroom and bedrooms requires another 17 steps. With luggage, that’s difficult for most people. We learned from this experience, but are stronger. Finally, The lights in the windowless stairway leading to the apartment are on a very brief automatic timer, leaving us in the dark several times. Don't dawdle. Keep your phone’s flashlight ready! Bring your own soap and shampoo.
