Excellent and comfortable to cottage
It's a great location with easy access to stores and walks. Anything you need is available at the cottage. They even have an emergency food supply (tuna, pasta and tomato paste) as well as condiments to cook with. The rooms are very comfortable and kids and dogs friendly.
The blinds in the master bedroom ' s garden side window are broken so we couldn't sleep in the morning. There was nowhere to put the general garbage, and the plastic recycling bin was overflowing

We chose Perthshire because my husband and I wanted to visit parts of Scotland for a week without constantly hopping from one accommodation to another (our trip included Stirling, Falkirk, Edinburgh, Fort William, Blair Castle's surroundings and an adventure park further north). We found Cardoon Cottage and loved staying there. Comrie is a lovely and quiet village, and parking was always available right in front of the cottage. For bigger shopping trips, Aldi in Crieff is just a few minutes away. The place was spotless, and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean. I found the kitchen very well-equipped, and the host was incredibly helpful, assisting me with a question about meal preparation. I only needed to bring my blender to make soup for the baby; everything else was provided. It truly felt like home. Our children (8 and under) loved the bunk beds and slept soundly every night (nightlight in the room!). The double bed was comfortable, too, as were the pillows. The check-in and check-out processes went smoothly, with no surprises or issues. The cottage exceeded my expectations; although it looked beautiful in the photos, it was even lovelier and cozier in person. I really appreciated the books and toys available for the children, which kept them entertained all week long. I only wish we could have stayed longer and that the weather had been a bit warmer so we could have enjoyed the garden. I would stay here again this year if I could, and I’ve already recommended it to family members. I want to thank Elizabeth and everyone involved in this project. You are doing a fantastic job, keep it up. I apologize if anything wasn't left quite right or for any noise we might (probably!) have made.
For those who prefer sleeping in the dark until morning, one of the roof windows/skylights lacks a permanent blind, and attaching the blackout curtain can be tricky (though not impossible), as the suction cups don't stick well to the glass.

Pleasure to stay in this historic cottage for one week with my family. Well-equipped for all our needs and modern kitchen with big fridge freezer was a bonus. Property was stated with no parking but you can park in the front of house in street and space was always available. Good location for visiting or exploring many interesting places

Enjoyed the house but owner totally unhelpful
We lived in this house when we first got married in the early 1980s and our daughter was born during that time. We were pleased to see that the owners had changed little of the character of the house. The window shutters were still in use - when we moved in after buying the house they were nailed into the walls and we got them out and restored them so nice to see that. House is warm and cosy. The garden is nice and contained so safe for dogs and children.
Certain things need doing eg the bedroom blinds don't work so a cloth curtain with suckers was provided to cover the windows - this did not work - see photo. The real reason for the poor review is the TOTAL lack of communication by the owner. We contacted her before we booked and even told her about our history with the house, thinking it would be more personal. No reply at all. We asked if we could check in early and got a standard response "subject to availability" - never heard if it was possible. When we arrived there was nothing like a "Welcome" note or any information on the area or house. Having lived in Comrie for 2 years we knew good walks, etc, but for most guests it would be useful to have suggestions, of places to eat and visit, and also important phone numbers eg doctors, etc. No Visitors Book meant no recommendations. Also practical things for the house such as bin days. The bins are in the garden which has no access to the road except through the house! There was a gate into next door's garden but that appeared private and so we didn't want to use that. There was nothing to tell us what days to put the bin out and how to get it there in the first place. This is so basic. We have stayed in many holiday homes in UK and abroad and information has always been available, plus things like a few basic groceries or gift shortbread. Here nothing - so cold and unwelcoming. The owners own website says "Our team is available by telephone and e-mail every day, 24/24. The most important thing for us? The comfort of our friendly customers! So don't hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to answer all your questions... We understand how important the guest experience is, and we strive to make every guest's stay memorable for all the right reasons." On Booking.com it says " I strive to offer my guests a 5 star experience from the beginning of their stay until their departure!" Really?
