    Extremely uncomfortable and disappointing stay

    Good location. Close to the scenic things. Comfortable bed, albeit a bit short.

    This was easily the worst part of our birthday getaway. We expected somewhere private and relaxing, but became increasingly uncomfortable. The biggest issue was the heating and AC. Although we could operate it ourselves, the host also had remote control and repeatedly turned it off. A motion sensor connected to the AC would turn it off when it believed we had left, including while we were lying in bed. She said she would readjust the sensor sensitivity. On our final night, at around 2am, while we were still awake and talking, the host remotely turned the AC off and messaged me saying the heating had to be off overnight. After this we became so conscious of the possibility of being heard that we stopped talking at our normal volume and essentially whispered. The listing says "The entire place is yours", but the host's living area is immediately adjacent to the bedroom. There were two motion sensors in the bedroom, a Ring camera at the entrance and a Google Home device in the bedroom. An open vent inside the bedroom wardrobe also appeared to lead towards the adjoining part of the house. Whatever the intended purpose, the overall setup made us extremely uncomfortable about our privacy. More than halfway through the stay, the host texted me asking for photos of my driver's licence and credit card, including the CVV. I complied because I was concerned about jeopardising our stay, but cancelled the card afterwards because I considered the details compromised. The kitchenette is essentially a bar fridge, microwave, kettle and utensils. There is no kitchen sink, so everything has to be carried through the living area and bedroom to the tiny bathroom sink. The bathroom was also freezing. Cleanliness was another issue. Every glass we checked had hairs and dust in it. I actually drank from one before discovering this. There were also many house rules provided only after booking. By the final morning, we were more than ready to leave.

    Extremely pleasant stay complete with a most hospitable host who is also a great cook!

    Location. Walking distance to town centre and major attractions including Scenic World.

    Cannot think of any.
