Would not stay there again. A pity because the location is fantastic.
This old converted warehouse is in a beautiful site and has been tasteful modernised. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walk from the Shambles. The suites we stayed in were adequately equipped and comfortably furnished. And they are very well sound insulated and peaceful. Though the view would be so much nicer if the windows were cleaned.... Support staff were helpful and friendly, (though all communication was by phone and Whassap - we didn't actually meet anyone). They responded to our queries promptly. They were unable to solve some problems but they did appear to make strenuous efforts. So thank you to them!
No hot water Could not turn heating on Hairdryer not working. (kept cutting out) We had to move to another suite thereby taking up valuable time out of our stay in York. We arrived on Friday but had to move to another suite on Sunday because the hot water problem (i.e. NO hot water) could not be resolved. So we were moved from one suite with no hot water to a second where the (shower) water was extremely hot and there was no way to adjust the temperature. I feel the company should have offered us some compensation since we lost some of our time in York because of the move. As is often the case it's the moving parts which cause problems. The heating was not working in the first suite either. We sought help with this and solved it. But the heating should have been switched on BEFORE our arrival, and we couldn't switch it on ourselves because the instructions in the guest book are incorrect. We were puzzled by the request to either pay refundable deposit of £250 OR a non-refundable £30. The logic seems to be the usual free money opportunity. (reason given is "Security deposit" - unconvincing). And given that the company has our credit card details and associated information I fail to see the need for photos of our passports. We were presented with these requests AFTER we had made the booking. Had we known in advance we would have declined to stay at ChocoLets.

The location
The inside of the windows were full of cobwebs. The fan was in the room was full of dust.The bed was really uncomfortable, and the top sheet smelled unclean so much we slept without it
