  We truly loved our stay and felt so welcomed from the very beginning. The hosts were incredibly kind and warm, and they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We were even spoiled with wonderful gifts from their own garden, which was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious, comfortable, and beautifully located in the middle of nature—a truly peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

  The location was breathtaking, the hosts were lovely and very welcoming , they ofered us a lot of things from their garden , very clean and it was a big apartament ☺️

  Charming appearance, deeply troubling stay.

  The property had a distinctive local character. Apart from that, however, there was very little about our stay that we found satisfactory.

  Our group of four women experienced problems that went far beyond ordinary inconvenience. The most serious issue was the persistent insect infestation. Despite keeping the property clean, we repeatedly found ants, flies, moths and other unidentified insects throughout the house. All four of us suffered multiple bites. One guest was particularly badly affected, with painful, swollen and intensely itchy marks covering much of her body, including her face, followed by a persistent fever. Although we cannot confirm the exact cause, no new bites appeared after we left the property, which strongly suggests that the source was inside the accommodation. The host also entered the house repeatedly, almost every day, without informing us or obtaining our permission. We frequently returned to find that personal belongings and objects inside the house had been moved. As four female guests, we found this extremely unsettling, particularly because we had no way of knowing whether private clothing, personal hygiene products or other intimate belongings had been touched. There were also serious maintenance concerns. On the first day, the shower head fell because its holder failed during normal use. We reported the problem immediately, but it remained unrepaired for approximately one week. The host later accused us of causing the damage and demanded €70, although the circumstances were much more consistent with pre-existing wear or poor maintenance. Because the property is relatively isolated, we depended on the host and his family for transport. Prices were repeatedly increased after journeys had already been completed, and we were sometimes asked to pay again for services that had already been paid for. One female guest also found the host’s close physical approach and personal questions intrusive and intimidating. Taken together, these incidents raised serious concerns about hygiene, privacy, maintenance, unfair charges and personal safety. We cannot recommend this property.

  Perfect stay surrounded by olive groves in a wonderful property just outside Rethymno

  Wow !! Amazing property, super spacious, immaculately clean, huge terrace with wonderful views and large balconies all around the house with seating! In the middle of olive groves but a 5 min drive from Rethymno town! Perfect location to explore. Great shower and spacious main bathroom with lots of storage space for toiletries. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need. Lovely bedrooms , we didn’t use the ac even once in August, the house is always cool and well ventilated with quality mosquito nets on all the windows and patio doors (we ate out on the terrace and never had a problem with mosquitoes). Last but not least our hosts were so welcoming and helpful ! Chrysa traditional family house was absolutely perfect, thanks for everything and see you next time!!
