  A pleasant stay with a few areas for improvement

  We appreciated the welcome gift of a bottle of wine upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. The accommodation was clean and satisfactorily equipped, and its location on one of the main streets made getting around during our stay very convenient. The balcony was particularly beautiful, offering a lovely view of the rooftops.

  However, there were a few things that could be improved. Although the host had assured us that they would be there before our scheduled arrival time to welcome us, they were late, and we had to wait on the street. Since the accommodation is right next to a busy street, there was noticeable traffic noise, which could be disturbing. The mattress also needs to be replaced, as it was not particularly comfortable. Additionally, the kettle urgently needs to be cleaned or replaced. It had significant limescale buildup, so we had to use a saucepan to boil water for tea instead. Overall, the accommodation has a great location, a lovely balcony, and good amenities, but addressing these issues would make the stay much more comfortable and enjoyable for future guests.

  Perfekte Lage und toller, kleiner Balkon mit Aussicht auf den Hafen

  Tolle Aussicht auf den Hafen mit einem kleinen Balkon. Perfekte Lage an der Hauptstraße zur Innenstadt.

  Die Dusche ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

  Not returning

  The property is easy to find and centrally located.

  There is a first front door to two apartments which opens to a small hallway, with separate doors for each apartments. We stayed in the one without the balcony. When we opened the first door we were overwhelmed with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. It was awful. Had we known this, we would not have booked. We asked Salvatore whether people smoked in the apartment and he shrugged and said you could smoke out of the window. Once he had left, we messaged Giovanni to say the smell was terrible. He offered to refund us one night but that was not the point. We arrived on Thursday and left on Sunday and could not rebook somewhere else after we had already arrived. The people in the other apartment left on Saturday. The cleaner was there on Saturday morning as we went out. When we returned, the hallway had the same strong cigarette smell. I can only conclude that the cleaner smoked cigarettes on the balcony and the smoke blew into the apartment, hallway and second apartment. In our apartment, all the internal frosted windows had blinds. But the only external window, nearest the bed, only had a thin sheer curtain. This made sleeping difficult because the street lights shone through. On Saturday night, there was loud music until 3am, making it impossible to sleep. I do not know why this window didn’t have a blackout blind and more insulation against the noise. Street noise (cars) is ok; this was loud music. It is a lovely apartment, but we do not smoke and booked it because it was a non-smoking apartment. The smell was terrible. And we couldn’t sleep because of the light and noise. So unfortunately, I cannot recommend this and would not return. Salvatore met us at the apartment. We had been travelling for 9 hours and wanted to shower and change. He showed us where the iron was (on a shelf in full view) “because another guest complained that there was no iron” and then made us guess who inspired him to learn English. Would have preferred less chat and better curtains.
