  Spacious Clean Scenic

  About 5 weeks ago we booked this place for 3 nights. It was easily accessible by car from Cowes ferry. As you reach the property one has to drive much slower for about 1 minute on a narrow untarmacked countryside path, not a problem whatsoever. The house is big, with medium sized rooms including one large one all on the upper level. The bedrooms have great views and plenty storage in each. Comfy beds, linen and towels. 2 out of the 5 rooms work particularly well for families with kids as they are access rooms with a small shower / toilet room in between. Total of 2.5 bathrooms with a large main one also upstairs, with a bath and a shower, but a tricky shower on/off buttons, owners please beware of it. The kitchen is an absolute delight equipped to the brim and leading to the side terrace with access to a garden, wide table + chairs, and the obligatory welcomed grand scenic view. A bbq was available too, looovely. We did not use the dining room as the living room and terrace felt way more inviting and airy. The dining room is an isolated and lonely room, a tricky windowless room to deal with so I sympathise with the owners, but if one needs absolutely an indoor table or isolation this room has it. Communication and information beforehand were impeccable and so we never saw our hosts or contacted them thereafter. There is one annexe to the other side of the main house, and another detached one, every place feels totally independent and only share the parking area. It was quiet and absolutely everything was spotless. I can't remember any wifi problems. Thank you for the stay.

  Host was very responsive and accommodated the party well (including cots, replacing missing items in the kitchen in a timely manner etc). She provided a service wash of laundry whilst we were away as the washing machine was no longer included in the booking as originally advertised. The house was ready earlier than advertised which was convenient too. The kitchen was well stocked allowing us to cook for a family of 10 for breakfast and dinner with enough pans/crockery etc. Very large bedrooms and lounge which was good for the size of the party.

  The house was clean on arrival but there were a few instances of live slugs/slug trails we noticed during the week in various places in the house. I note that a Google review mentioned the same that makes me wonder if it is more of an underlying issue than a one off occurrence as one of the slugs was seen in the same place they mentioned. The downstairs toilet seat needs fixing as it closes when you try to leave it up, but this is a minor issue.

  Outstanding property

  Excellent accommodation, extremely clean and well equipped property. Location brilliant. The garden was superb for all 9 of us plus 3 dogs. Thank you, Marie, for allowing us all to stay.

  Fantastic base, very grand and clean.

  Beautiful big house close to everything. Lovely garden space to play in. Everything was set and ready for us. We had a wonderful week. Thank you.

  Only small quarm was the bedroom door to the twin room with the en suite didn't close - too tight to the carpet.
