    Mixed Experience – Club Dolphin Negombo This was our third visit to Club Dolphin, returning because we previously enjoyed the hotel very much. The housekeeping and food were still fantastic, and those parts of our stay felt consistent with our first visit. However, the hotel was extremely busy this time, mainly with large groups of local guests — likely company day‑out events. Because of this, the pool area was packed and quite noisy. I wouldn’t recommend staying over a weekend if you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet break, although for general weekend stays it may still be fine depending on what you’re expecting. One disappointment was the late check‑out. Even though Booking.com advertised the possibility of late check‑out, we didn’t receive it because the hotel was fully booked. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did leave us a little let down. Overall, while we appreciated the good food and housekeeping, the busy atmosphere and the late check‑out experience mean we don’t think we would return again.

    Basic property showing its age.

    The room is a fair size and the overhead fan works. Luggage area in room handy. View from balcony is pleasant.

    Noisey. The hallway constantly slippery from water entering the building. Decorative cushions and rugs dirty and need replacing. Bed mattresses are basic and pillows uncomfortable. Bathroom dark and uninviting, with no window or exhaust fan and not enough places to hang wet towels. Only 2 bottles of water provided per day per room.
