We had a pleasant stay overall at Comfort & Bright Apartment by LovelyStay. The apartment is located about a 25 to 30 minute walk from the Alfama neighborhood and Lisbon's downtown area. While it's not in the heart of the tourist district, there are a couple of restaurants and markets nearby, making it convenient for meals and groceries. Bolt and Uber were inexpensive and easy to use. As two women traveling together, we felt safe in the neighborhood both during the day and in the evenings. The apartment is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, cookware, dishes, and a spacious walk in shower. There is no elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs. It also offers two bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, a portable crib, and a generous supply of towels. A free standing air conditioner and several fans helped keep the apartment comfortable. Overall, the apartment has a good location for exploring Lisbon, offers useful amenities, and we felt safe during our stay. However, the lack of responsive customer service, the door issue, and the cleanliness and maintenance concerns kept the experience from being as positive as it could have been.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our stay. Upon arrival, we were unable to unlock the only door leading outside. We contacted the property manager, who asked us to send a photo, but after we did, we never received a follow up or assistance. Thankfully, a resident of the building was able to help us. We experienced a similar lack of support when the washing machine lid became locked with our clothes inside. Again, we were unable to get help from the host. The apartment also showed signs of wear. Some of the furniture was stained, the couch cushions continually slid out of place, and the bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly, as we found hair on the floor and behind the toilet.
