If that is their level of service, pick a better hotel.
Location was ok, both the trains need to blow their horns every time they cross in front of the hotel is not great. First hotel I saw that gives you earplugs for the night.
The hotel itself may be perfectly nice, but the service I received was terrible. I arrived around 8 p.m. and tried to do some laundry. After adding detergent and paying $1.25, the washing machine would not work. Two employees spent about 45 minutes trying to operate it, without success. By then, my clothes were soaked in detergent and I needed them for the following day. I asked for a simple solution: could the hotel wash or rinse my clothes in one of its own machines? The night employee initially said no. When I asked her to contact the manager, she returned and told me that she had spoken with him and that he would not allow it. Her proposed solution, at nearly 9 p.m., was that I drive to another town across the Mississippi to find a laundromat. She offered to refund my $1.25, but the money was never the issue. I simply wanted reasonable assistance with a problem caused by the hotel's malfunctioning equipment. The most upsetting part came the next morning. I spoke with the hotel manager, who told me that the employee had never actually asked him about letting me use the hotel's washer. She had only texted him that the guest machine wasn't working, and he had instructed her to try to fix it. He had never refused my request because, according to him, he was never asked. Machines break, and I would not give a hotel a bad review because a washing machine malfunctioned. The problem was how the situation was handled—and especially being told that the manager had refused a reasonable request when apparently he had never been asked. That is simply terrible customer service.
