grateful there is a place for folks to stay, but we will not be coming back.
we stayed in the hotel in Syosset to be close to our destination
We were unaware that this location was a kind of a homeless shelter we not only paid for our room but for the homeless folks as well. Which is fine however the smell of pot was over the top, was also loud, due to dog barking, baby crying and folks arguing in the hallway at 2am felt unsafe due to other guests not sleeping during quiet time 10pm -7am they were extremely restless and we felt as though the situation could blow up at any moment example gun shots...

Homeless shelter! Not safe stay away!
Stay far far away from this hotel! THIS IS AN ACTUAL HOMELESS SHELTER! There are people roaming around clearly high and not in the right mindset. When we saw that they were handing out full meals for each meal of the day to certain people it became very obvious what was going on. When we questioned management they admitted that this is in fact a homeless shelter that they are being funded by the government for. They are not permitted to have people paying ridiculous prices for the vacant rooms (a handful on the third floor) while also receiving government funding for the homeless to reside there free of charge. It is a dangerous situation. Do not stay here. Additionally, once we realized what was going on we requested to be refunded (we had only arrived a few hours prior to that) and wanted to get away from there. Management was lying and making up excuse after excuse to not refund our money. They finally agreed to do so however we have since been charged the full price and there is no indication that anything was refunded at all. We will be pursuing this. Save yourself the unsafe conditions and the hassle.

Good place to stay.
One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. The room was fresh, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed.

this is a homeless hotel
This is a hotel for homeless people. Hallways stink of cannabis. Very sketchy. I saw Nassau County police getting called to premises and what looked like DEA agents with sniffer dogs. The room was very clean but I wound not stay here unless you have no choice . Breakfast is typical mediocre American fare.
