  A comfortable and quiet holiday home, ideally located for our visit

  We stayed at this property as it was ideally located to take our son to GP and hospital appointments on 4 days in the week. Also the location was quiet, and the parking was very convenient. We enjoyed a visit to the palace in Bishop Aukland.

  The oven was not working when we needed it on our first day - fixed the following day after contacting the owner. One plate and one bowl were found to be chipped on arrival, but the total number were quite adequate for our family of four. There was only ONE saucepan - totally inadequate for cooking on the hob.

  A compact quiet pied a terre for visits to Bishop Auckland with beautiful countryside views

  The modern 3 bedroom detached house was quiet at the end of a street. It had great views over the fields on two sides of the house. The downstairs toilet was useful in addition to the bathroom upstairs. The TV was good and the kitchen facilities and dining room worked well for meals. The washing machine was useful. The location was a short drive to shops and other facilities in Bishop Auckland.

  The rooms were a little compact. Sound travelled between downstairs and upstairs very easily. We were advised not to use the third small bedroom until its carpet was cleaned which did not prove feasible during our stay. Drying laundry was challenging as it seemed difficult to get the house warm.

  Overall, as a group of friends we enjoyed our sta but spent minimal time in the house.

  Location excellent for sightseeing. Close to retail park and amenities. Easy access to town. Link detached house at the top of a no exit road which gave privacy. Two toilets. Quiet back garden with decking, backs on to a crop field and gets the sun Separate dining room. Clean towels and bedding.

  Cleanliness. Minimum mismatch cutlery/glasses (two wine glasses, no teaspoons). Frayed carpet edges between doorways which are a trip hazard. Light bulbs out in several light fittings. Toilet seats loose. First floor smoke alarm cover missing. Bathroom floor dirty, bath-shower door mouldy. Dirty between the sofa seat cushions. Overall the inside of the house looks in need of an update.
