We loved how close the house was to all the major D.C sites. Only about a 10-14 min drive depending on traffic. The house was clean, mostly. There were 2 bags of garbage left outside when we arrived, left on the back deck. We did contact the property owner/company and let them know and they quickly came that night or the next morning to pick up the garbage. The place is super cute and modern. Tons of space and everything worked fine in the place. I do heating and air conditioning for a living, so I would say that the AC does need updating. But that's my professional opinion, it just took a long time for it to get cool in the place. But it does work. And we were okay. I will say though that it is in a very low income neighborhood of DC. Partially my fault I guess for not googling more to see where the location was. I googled to see if it was close enough to Washington DC sites, which it was. But when I say we were like three blocks up from project housing we were legit three blocks up from project housing. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I live in the city of Pittsburgh like IN THE CITY. So it wasn't really that it bothered us, but I wasn't expecting it. One more thing I will say about showing up and there being garbage outside. The property manager said that it wasn't their cleaning people who left it. So to be honest I think it was one of the neighbors or someone in the neighborhood just leaving garbage... Possibly. And they resolved the issue quickly. Because of this though, and the area I think, when we would go outside at night to smoke cigarettes. (Because the place is non-smoking) We would see rats. Not necessarily anywhere super close to the house. But we saw them across the street, and maybe one time we saw one in the front yard. Not sure if it was because of the garbage left outside when we got there, or just the low income city area unfortunately. But the house was super duper clean. It smelled great.
