    An okay trip away

The location was amazing and the house was suitable for my partner and I, our baby, and two dogs. The house is in a private and quiet location and the views were amazing. The alpacas and goats roaming in the area by the house was lovely, and we saw some kangaroos too. Check in was easy, and the host was responsive when I emailed prior to our arrival. You can tell the host does put in effort to make the stay enjoyable. We loved being able to take our dogs and it was a perfect spot for them.

Unfortunately, a few minor, and easily fixed things, spoiled the stay a bit for us. Firstly, when we arrived and were unpacking we noticed there was some old food in the fridge. This immediately gave us an impression of the house not being cleaned properly after the last guests. After unpacking we went to have some food and noticed there was only one fork to share. This is something we found particularly strange given the house sleeps 9 people. We then realised there was also only one normal sized wine glass. In addition, some other drinking glasses were dirty (one had a sticky residue on the bottom). We were also excited to have a fire outside, and happy to find lots of firewood for use. However we were disappointed to find there was no fire starter or matches to use to light a fire (this is fine although had we known we would’ve brought some). When we did try to have a fire, we found the fire pits (which were half barrels) were uncovered and so had collected water so we couldn’t get a proper fire going. There were also a lot of cigarette butts in the backyard, mostly around the fire pit area. But this also made us think perhaps the house hadn’t been cleaned properly after the last guests as it was supposed to be non smoking. A little more attention to detail would make this a truly incredible spot to stay. Edited to add that the hosts reply is a tad defensive and seems to imply we are lying about the corn - this is definitely not the case and I’m unsure why we would do so? It also implies we just couldn’t find the forks… I promise this was not the case. Disappointing to see a reply that instead of being apologetic, seems to be trying to pass the blame.

    Cozy and relaxing

Very relaxing house, well thought out including everything you need. Beautiful view of the lake from almost every side of the house. Dog friendly. Also a shower for tall people, it's so nice not to have to duck under the shower.

    A wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic stay here. The place was beautiful - overlooking the lake. Well kept, neat and tidy. Offerred all required comforts, facilities and appliances, etc. Wonderful views all around. From the living area, almost 180 degrees view of the lake and the meadow, where you can see alpacas and sheeps wondering around. Lots of books to sit down with a wine and get lost in. Had a sunset wine session on the patio, looking over the lake. Wondwrful experience - will definitely book again in future.
