    Extraordinary city and perfect place to experience it

    We loved our stay here from start to finish. The views are extraordinary. Lots of yummy treats for snacking on and if course coffee. A complimentary bottle of wine was so appreciated after a long day of exploring this ancient city. Our host was super communicative in all aspects of check in and check out. The Bed Report- the bed was soft and so comfortable which was such a surprise after 9 super hard rock beds everywhere Iin Italy we had been previously. Also shower water pressure amazing. Also not typical in Italy. Had lots of drizzle showers. Would definitely stay here again.

    Didn’t affect us but the stairs would be a problem for people with mobility issues. But there are so so many stairs in the ancient city you would be wise not to choose this part to stay in at all.

    Location, the terrace and cake/biscuits/coffee available even though not specifically part of the cost!

    Just make sure you know where you'll be parking if youre driving as mustn't access the central area...but this is the same in most Italian cities so we were prepared for it and requested parking options beforehand!

    Everything was excellently organized. We received very detailed instructions, and the check-in and key handover went perfectly smoothly. We were also welcomed with a lovely welcome gift. The accommodation has a wonderful rooftop terrace, and the space is perfectly air-conditioned. The apartment is located in the historic Sassi district, which offers a unique and authentic experience of Matera. Communication with the hosts was flawless.

    Everything was fine. However, it is important to understand that you are staying in the historic Sassi district, where there are stairs and you need to get around on foot. It is probably not suitable for people with mobility issues, but the host provides this information clearly and accurately, so it should not affect the rating. Only by staying in the Sassi can you experience Matera in the fullest sense. It doesn’t get much more authentic than this.
