    Avoid

    Beds were comfortable

    Front driveway full of weeds and cigarette ends. Rear garden very overgrown and full of dogs mess and cigarette butts - unusable even with hot weather. Property very tired overall. Paint flaking in kitchen badly. Signs of damp above front door. One window handle on front lying on sill so couldn't open at all. Storage heater hanging off wall in front bedroom. Sockets had crosses on in kitchen so didn't use them. Rug badly stained. Huge rip in sofa seat cushion

    We were scammed.

    Nothing.

    We booked and paid for this property over a month in advance and received full confirmation. On the day of arrival—just hours before we were due to check in we were suddenly told the accommodation was “not available.” Communication was poor and inconsistent. We had to repeatedly chase for updates while the host claimed to be “on hold with Booking.com,” leaving us completely in limbo with no confirmed place to stay. No alternative accommodation was proactively provided, and there was no sense of urgency or responsibility. From how this was handled, it’s very hard to believe this was a genuine issue like maintenance. This felt like a double booking situation where our reservation was dropped in favour of another booking, likely at a higher price. The explanation given did not add up and appeared to be a cover rather than the truth. The most unacceptable part: we were charged for the booking and still have not been refunded. Being left without accommodation on the day of arrival, after booking a month in advance, is bad enough. Being charged for it on top of that is outrageous. We were travelling for an international tournament and needed reliability. Instead, we got stress, uncertainty, and zero accountability. A confirmed booking should mean exactly that. Avoid.
