Describing this property as a “luxury holiday cottage” feels like a stretch. In reality, it is a mid-terraced property overlooking a small car park, and unfortunately, our experience fell well short of what we expected. As soon as we arrived, we were unable to park outside the property and had to carry all of our luggage from elsewhere. This was not a particularly good start to our stay. Having since read other reviews, it appears that parking is a recurring issue rather than the rarity suggested by the owner. The courtyard is essentially a small front patio with a table and chairs, with shared access to the neighbouring property and a view over the car park. Unfortunately, it does little to create the atmosphere you would expect from a property described as a luxury cottage. We also became very aware that the holiday let did not appear to be particularly welcome among some of the local residents, and we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable by our neighbours. This significantly affected our enjoyment of the stay. The view from the smaller bedroom was also less than appealing, overlooking a neighbouring garden which was unfortunately covered in dog excrement. I fully appreciate that the property owners have no control over this, but it is nevertheless something potential guests may wish to be aware of. As other guests have mentioned, the sofa was also very uncomfortable and certainly not suitable for relaxing on for any length of time. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We were so unhappy with the property and the surrounding circumstances that we decided to leave after just one night, despite having booked for longer. Unfortunately, we would not return and cannot recommend this property based on our experience.

Our stay was only short but we will definitely try and stay longer another time

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Good location for Dartmoor and Tavistock.

    Wont be going back

The beds were comfy. The bed linen was clean, and the bedrooms were also a good size with hanging rails

From the moment we arrived it became apparent that the local residents resented holiday makers within such close proximity. The courtyard garden (only at the front of the property) is not a private area, it is a throughfare for the adjacent cottages. The man in No 7 decided to exit his property at least 30 times on our first night, playing offensive rap music loudly, smoking constantly, and swearing loudly. He sat in his vehicle until late at night, and banged his hands on the dashboard, shouting constantly. As a result of the above we felt uncomfortable staying there. This continued throughout our stay. Additionally, the lounge furniture was not suitable for the space - the dining table obstructed the view of the TV, so we had to move it, and the furniture was not at all comfortable. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked, but the oven wasn’t clean which mean it smoked when you switched it on. The oven pans were covered in tin foil, underneath they were rusty! The bathroom sink was very small, which made cleaning your teeth very difficult indeed. On the day of departure, whilst loading our car, a lady opposite complained about running our car and polluting her air! The car had been running for a maximum of 5 minutes. All in all our stay was horrible and we definitely won’t be returning.
