Unsafe, Outdated Property with Blame-the-Guest Attitude

Total failure of a hotel. As Platinum members, we were first hit with a $50 cash-grab fee just to check in 30 minutes early. Once inside, the room was highly disappointing: a sagging mattress that rolled us to the middle, an incredibly low bed frame, a useless fridge, and a tiny bathroom counter forcing toiletries onto the floor. Worst of all, the hotel is unsafe. A poorly secured bath towel hook fell off the door when I pulled a towel, cutting and bruising my leg right before a wedding rehearsal dinner. The front desk staff showed zero sympathy, offered no real first aid beyond a single bandage, and actually tried to blame me for "pulling too hard" instead of apologizing. They left sharp hardware exposed on the door. While the weekend maintenance man fixed it quickly the next day, he had never even been told about the incident by the front desk. Gym equipment was broken, AC was broken (freezing day, hot night), and no bottled water was provided. We are seriously questioning staying at any Marriott after this nightmare.

Clean. Mattress was great. Piloows were good

Sleeper sofa was unusable -- was more comfortable to slee on the floor. The hotel would have been an OK value at $150/night. But instead, it was $360/night, likely due to low availability of rooms in the area.

Maureen, the receptionist is rude & patronizing

The front desk receptionist, Maureen, should consider a new occupation because she is not only extremely rude to patrons, but doesn't quite know what she's doing. My husband and I were treated as if we were such an inconvenience to check in, and Maureen gave us such an attitude simply because we didn't have a Marriott Bonvoy number on hand. I would never come back here just because of how rude she is. Maureen, consider a new route or you'll be losing this hotel plenty of business. You don't need to be mean to people just because you hate your job.
