    Charming cottage with nice hot tub - really hot!

    Charming cottage immersed into the wild with a beautiful hot tub. Comfortable mattresses, well equipped kitchen. True Icelandic feeling.

    Cleaning could be improved, especially in the bathroom and the carpets. The external shower could be uncomfortable for somebody, although we found it okay. There is no room for luggages - the upper space should be better exploited, at present it's almost unuseful and the space at the groundfloor is too small for 4 persons.A larger pot in the kitchen (with lid) is needed.

    Un petit chalet en bois situé en haut d'une petite colline, avec une grande terrasse, un hot tub et une vue sur les arbres et un peu aussi, au loin, sur les montagnes enneigées. De la maison, il est possible de se promener dans des paysages de landes couvertes de mousse et de lichen, parmi des orchidées sauvages, face aux volcans. De plus, il est très facile de là d'accéder aux différents lieux d'intérêt du Cercle d'or.

    Les chambres sont très petites pour deux personnes, d'autant qu'il y a au-dessus du grand lit un lit superposé. Par ailleurs, il faut sortir de la maison pour accéder à la douche par un petit chemin-escalier à l'extérieur.

    Not recommended in summer

    The hot tub was nice and the bedrooms had blackout curtains.

    Sorry, but we cannot recommend this cottage at least in the summer time (we went mid july). There was an insane amount of tiny black midges near and inside the cottage, which would constantly bite, particularly when you were trying to sleep. Neither keeping the windows closed at night nor having a fan pointed at the bed or window seemed to help. In the end almost all of us had dozens or even a hundred itchy bites, despite our best efforts. Ultimately we decided to cut our stay short by one day as we couldn't bear any more bites. The upstairs also wasn't properly cleaned and had some crumbles on the floor and there were lots of dead midges in the corners. The house also had some off-putting odor from the start.
