Could be great with a little more thought.
Lovely building with great features.
With a little thought this could be a great stay! Soap at the hand basins (not hand lotion), tablets for dishwasher, fire lighters and kindling for fire. The lack of hot water wasn’t pleasant first morning. I was promised someone within 10mins and an update but neither happened. Issue was rectified.

Disappointing and very over-priced. Will not stay here again.
The property was very clean. The bedding was clean and we were provided with plenty of towels.
I am surprised by the number of outstanding reviews for this property. It is far from outstanding. There is no parking on the premises. Instead, there is a bit of wasteland next to the cottage but it was very full when we arrived and we found it very difficult to squeeze into the only remaining space. The cottage is on a very busy main road and so there is a lot of noise from the road. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. There was no welcome pack and no basics like kitchen roll, foil, etc. There were very few plates and glasses and no kitchen scissors. Even more annoyingly, there was no washing up liquid to clean the dishes and no dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. This is totally unacceptable. We had to put the dishwasher on without any dishwasher tablet. How can this be acceptable? We would have gone to the local shop to buy some but nowhere was open before we had to be out by 10am on a Sunday morning. The kitchen stove has multiple ovens but the two on the left hand side are not working. I have looked back at the reviews and this issue was reported over a year ago and has not been fixed. The only oven that is working is not fan-assisted and it takes a long time to get up to temperature. The property is not particularly dog friendly. The stone stairs are really slippy and you have to climb them really carefully to avoid falling. The dog nearly went flying on them because they were too slippy. There is also a huge mirror on the decking outside, no doubt to make the decking area look bigger. If a dog ran into that, the consequences would be horrific. And not to mention a small child… This property is beautifully decorated but it has a lot of hidden problems that are not being addressed by the owner. Look back at the negative reviews and you will see no mention of an owners name and very few of the issues have been addressed as promised.

Really not worth the money
I requested information on how to get in, the night before, as I had not been informed beforehand. We we not informed until the morning of the journey. I the same breath they demanded my email address so that they could send me a link to submit a deposit, this felt like we were not trusted and something that I have not experienced when booking previously. The quality of the fixtures and fitting were good and the hot tub was as good as we expected.
We arrived on the Friday evening to find that there is NO 'Free parking on prem'. There is some 'waste land' adjacent to the cottage, however it has no available space. We ended up parking in the church car park. The kitchen did not have some of the basics like Kitchen roll, tin foil, even salt or cooking oil of some kind. I couldn't work out how to use the left hand oven, fortunately the RHS one was easier to use. No welcome pack which is unusual for a property of this stature. The local pub has closed down and the pub half a mile down the road, in the adjacent village, the Holywell Inn was closed for refurbishment? Although the hot tub was good, I'd have expected 'house coats' an disposable slippers to have been provided. £280 per night for a couple is poor value for money. And what is the point of an Iron without an ironing board? Deeply disappointing
