Very friendly place. Breakfast was spot on
Rooms a little dated but very clean and comfortable
Slight musty smell at first but soon cleared

Very comfortable, clean and well run hotel that we would definitely recommend visiting.
The breakfast was perfect. A good choice available and served by attentive friendly staff. Nothing was a problem. We had a double bedroom on the top floor looking out over the park with a lovely view of the Lake and surrounding mountains. Only a short distance to walk to the town centre with lots of places to eat and drink.
Bathroom was quite small and compact with a walk in shower and not much room to display toiletries etc but was kept very clean and well maintained.

The location was fantastic. The room had a direct view to Derwentwater, and it was a quick walk from the pier to take the ferry to go around the lake or go straight to Catbells. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
The room layout was a bit tricky for two people to move around, but had a cozy lounging area with the view to the lake - so it was just a bit awkward in the mornings but overall okay

Beautiful old hotel.
It was so central. Very clean and the staff were fabulous, especially the breakfast staff.
We were right on the top floor so struggled to get our luggage up the stairs. Main problem was it was a windy night and the noise from the roof kept us awake all night.
