This hotel won't help you at all after 6 PM. Because the manager in charge is nowhere to be found.
----location----- Is it the same for other islands in Thailand? On Koh Samui, taxi fares aren't metered but fixed, which felt quite expensive. Even for a short 5-to-10-minute ride, you have to expect to pay around 300 to 600 baht, making getting around inconvenient. I originally planned to walk to town and take in the surroundings, but the 20-minute walk along the roadside had no shade and nothing to see, so I gave up and took a taxi instead. In that sense, I think the location was quite poor. Unless you are traveling with young children or do not drink alcohol, I strongly recommend renting a scooter to get around. ----Room location---- It was disappointing that there was no information about this anywhere in the hotel guide. Our room was a "Sea View Terrace," which was located at the very edge of the hotel, and we had to walk up a fairly steep slope to reach it. Since our room was at the very top of that slope, dragging our luggage up and down was extremely difficult. Going up and down this path every time we wanted to go to the pool or have a meal was so exhausting that we had to carry all our belongings with us at once. It was especially inconvenient because we were traveling with a young child. The path wasn't well-maintained either, with a lot of cracked and peeled cement, making it quite hard to push a stroller. If you visit, I would recommend booking a Garden View room instead, as it is on flatter ground and much easier to get around.
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. As expected from a room with "Terrace" in its name, it had a large terrace, but it was filled with so many ants and dead bugs. Although I requested water cleaning, only the tip I left was gone. In the end, I could only look at that huge terrace with my eyes. The most incomprehensible part was that on our first day, when I went into the bathroom to shower, there was no hot water, so I had to wash with cold water. Even though they claimed to have fixed it, there was still no hot water on the second day. I was traveling with two young children under the age of 10. Furthermore, after housekeeping, the wet towels we had used the previous day and left on the floor were hung back up on the wall. Clean towels were nowhere to be found. Saying I was "angry" doesn't even begin to describe how I felt at that moment. When I called the front desk, they simply said they were busy and asked to call back later, treating me like nothing more than a chronic complainer. The front desk staff simply said they were just an employee who knew nothing, and when I asked to speak with the manager, I was told the manager had off at 6 PM, was resting, and wouldn't even get on the phone with me. Unable to tolerate it any longer, I requested a cancellation, and after a long argument, I was finally able to get it canceled. After 7 PM, I had to find and book another hotel on the spot while taking care of my two children. The reason I am writing this experience is that while anyone can make a mistake and issues like this can happen, I find it unbelievable that a manager of a hotel would handle things so negligently without even offering a proper apology to a guest. I sincerely hope no other guests suffer like this at this hotel.
