    Don’t book if you want a gym

    We stayed at the hotel for one night at the beginning of October 2026. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than expected, but were given a very warm welcome and, even better, were able to check in early. We were told our room would be ready within 20 minutes, which we thought was excellent service. We chose this hotel partly because it had a fitness centre and a pool, and we were looking forward to using both. Our room was comfortable, although not particularly large. The bed was clean and had three pillows, and everything worked as expected, including the air conditioning, television and fridge. The small freezer compartment was particularly useful for keeping our ice packs frozen. The bathroom was also very good, with good water pressure, complimentary toiletries and clean, fresh-smelling white towels. Unfortunately, the fitness centre was a real disappointment. It looked more like a storage room, with one treadmill completely out of order and the other in poor condition. The exercise bike didn’t have a saddle, there was no air conditioning, and the water dispenser was empty. We lasted about five minutes before having to leave. Breakfast was okay, with a reasonable selection including cereals, coffee, waffles, boiled eggs and toast. Nothing special, but enough for a good start to the day. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Overall, despite the disappointing fitness centre, we had a pleasant stay and felt the hotel offered reasonable value for the price.
