  Charmantes Apartment mitten in der Altstadt. Großzügige Räume mit moderner Einrichtung. Dachterrasse mit tollem Ausblick auf die Bucht.

  Casual beach chic with exceptional location and rooftop view, just needs a few tweaks.

  1. The host met us at a nearby parking area and helped us with our luggage all the way up the stairs to the apartment. He even rode with the men in our group to the secure long-term parking area so they wouldn't have to search for it on their own. 2. The location is simply stellar--exactly where you want to be in Otranto. Two minutes from the walk along the sea and right in the middle of the best shopping and restaurant areas. 3. The view from the rooftop terrace is beautiful during the day and at night over the water. 4. The apartment was very clean and the bath products were excellent. 5. A welcome box of treats and cold beverages in the fridge was lovely.

  1. The living room seating was not functional for our 4 adults (2 couples). One booking.com photo showed an orange sofa (removed from the listing since this review was posted), so we expected that. Instead, separate, bean-bag-style "chairs" pushed together on the floor are so low the shorter women needed help getting out of them, and the men found them unusable. Utilizing them as a sofa was not possible as they separated into pieces. When we gathered together to visit, we had to sit on the metal dining chairs as the living room just wasn't functional for us. Others have noted this, yet it has not been addressed. 2. The lighting in the shared living/dining area is minimal and dim. With no windows, the only natural light comes from a single door going outside to the first small terrace. Through this door, you see only the patio wall and some sky, making the space feel more closed in. We had rainy weather while we were there, so we utilized this indoor space more than some might. 3. There is no plan for unexpected power outages. When we lost power during a thunderstorm shortly after our evening arrival, we reached out to the host to ask about flashlights or candles, and he said we'd need to use our mobile phones (which were not fully charged after a long day of travel) until power was restored. When we noticed that neighbors had power, and there was power in the hallway between apartments, we reached out again asking to access the fuse box (we ultimately had to flip a breaker). We had to initiate this remedy; we did not sense an urgency from the host to resolve it. Functioning in the dark in this apartment with its steep stairs via a cell phone light would be dangerous. 4. One entire wall of each bedroom (which are side by side) is semi-opaque glass, letting in light from the hallway and upstairs via the open stairway.
