My sister and I (from Australia) booked 4 nights at this property ten months in advance, based on the advertised: location, sea view, kitchen (for cooking our own meals), 2 bathrooms, 2 beds and a sofa bed in the living room. On arrival, we got the location and sea view as expected but the remaining facilities did not meet our expectations.
On arrival, I messaged our host and asked for 2 extra towels for our 4 night stay and was told, "You've booked an apartment not a hotel", so the answer to that request was a no. I asked if there was a kettle to boil water for tea. (We don't use coffee machines and rarely drink coffee). Our host told me that "the request was irrelevant". Prior to our arrival, I messaged our host through booking.com and politely requested linen to be provided for the sofa bed in the living room, so that we could sleep in separate areas. No response. On arrival, I messaged again and our host said the single bed mattress in the bedroom would do and there weren't sofa beds. Both lounges in the living room were sofa beds. We have stayed at 4 'old town' apartments in Puglia: Bari, Lecce, Locorotondo and Monopoli. All hosts (except at this property) respected us as non-Italian guests and fulfilled the above requests promptly, willingly, with a smile and without judgement. Items to be addressed: the toilet seat in the second bathroom needs replacement due to broken hinges; pots and pans need upgrading; in the second bathroom, there is a switch beside the light switch, which operates the hot water system - this needs to be explained to guests.
