    Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. Een teleurstelling.

    Veel te duur voor wat je krijgt. Een teleurstelling. We hadden bewust gekozen voor een wat luxere overnachting op onze terugreis vanuit Frankrijk. Het idee was om na een lange reis even lekker te ontspannen en samen met onze dochter van 1,5 jaar nog te kunnen zwemmen. Helaas viel het verblijf behoorlijk tegen. Bij aankomst bleek het hotel in een weinig sfeervolle omgeving te liggen, in een straat met maar liefst elf tankstations, vlak bij de Duitse grens. Achteraf had ik liever nog even doorgereden naar Duitsland. De eerste kamer die we kregen was ronduit treurig, zeker als je bedenkt dat we hier bijna €200 voor betaalden. Ik vroeg daarom of er een upgrade mogelijk was. Die kregen we, maar wel voor €15 extra. Vervolgens belandden we in een kamer in de kelder, waar het ontzettend warm was. Ook dit voelde allesbehalve luxe. Omdat we op doorreis waren vanuit Frankrijk, hadden we een overvolle auto met al onze vakantiespullen. Het tentje waarin onze dochter tijdens de vakantie sliep, lag ergens onderop. Daarom vroeg ik of er een kinderbedje beschikbaar was. Dat kon, maar ook hiervoor moesten we nog eens €15 extra betalen. Op zichzelf begrijp ik dat bepaalde voorzieningen extra kunnen kosten, maar bij een kamerprijs van bijna €200 verwacht je toch een bepaalde mate van comfort en gastvrijheid. In plaats daarvan leek overal een meerprijs aan te hangen. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is wat mij betreft volledig zoek. We wilden onze vakantie afsluiten met een fijne, ontspannen overnachting, maar hielden er vooral een teleurgesteld gevoel aan over. Voor dit bedrag zijn er ongetwijfeld veel betere en sfeervollere alternatieven te vinden. Wij zouden hier in ieder geval niet opnieuw boeken.

    Great stop for tasting the local wines and a really good spa.

    The spa is excellent and with lots of different treatment rooms. The hotel is close to quite a few local vineyards and the quality of the whites is amazing. The hotel is surrounded by petrol stations due to cheaper prices than across the german border but all in all with the spa, wine tasting (at one of the vineyards) and the hotel we had a great time. The breakfast was super as well.
