If you want the personal touch don’t stay here .
Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom fittings were very good.excellent powerful shower.
Communication was awful.I contacted the hotel via Booking.com to advise that we would arrive at 4pm and received a reply to say that this had been noted. We arrived at 4pm after a hot uphill walk. two reception staff tried to communicate with us . I do not expect people in countries where English is not spoken to understand English BUT I do expect them to show some initiative and perhaps use a translation App as many other people we interacted with in Turkey did. I wanted to use the SPA and wanted a list of treatments offered with prices . The staff member kept saying that she would book my treatments but I said I couldn’t do that until I knew what was available. I also wanted to book the hairdresser for a blow dry, again we could not communicate this . I had actually requested the SPA treatment list weeks before we arrived to allow time for any translation needed but I was told this would be given when we arrived . One of the reasons we chose this hotel which was not near the historic sites was because of the SPA and we couldn’t use it . Finally we managed to scan the QR code from the digital advertisement board which changed from screen to screen very quickly . We were not offered a cold drink, however, we were offered a hot cookie each ! Not only was this surprising as cold drinks would have been more appropriate , but I had messaged the hotel a month in advance to advice that my husband was lactose intolerant and they had replied that this would be catered for . We went to our room to discover that that the AC had not been switched on , it was 26 degrees in the room. I needed a shower but there was no shower cap or bathrobe. I asked reception to send these up . The AC instructions were in Turkish as was all information on the TV. Breakfast was frustrating, yes there was oat milk and omelettes but little else. We couldn’t sit on the terrace which seated 100 as there was no designated non smoking area. I complained and got a generic reply. Very disappointing.
