Lovely pension next to a small river in the mountains.
Lovely pension next to a small river in the mountains. I spend a few days there to work remotely and it was perfect. The place itself has a nice in-the-middle-of-nowhere vibe, yet there is a small supermarket within a few minutes walk and several places to see including the beautiful city of Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) within a 15 minute drive. I very much appreciated the shared amenities (mini kitchen with fridge, water boiler, microwave in the hallway). Also I accidentally left some things behind and the staff was very helpful getting it back to me.
The check-in procedure could have been more smooth. They used an online service ("Alfred") that was supposed to give me the code for the keybox upon completion but it never did. When I arrived (well before check-in closing time) all doors were locked and windows were dark. After walking around the building a few times I saw a staff member leaving for the night and they helped me. I believe there was also a phone number at the door that I would have called next but it didn't get to that point.
