  This was one of the most unprofessional and unreliable accommodation experiences I have encountered.

  Immediately after the booking, the host sent a message suggesting that I should cancel the reservation myself if I had any issue, despite the fact that all booking details were clearly visible before reservation. Shortly after, I received a long message requesting that all guests send both sides of their ID cards to a private Gmail address. Due to GDPR and privacy concerns, I refused this request and offered to use the official “Vendégem” application or present the documents personally at check-in instead. The host confirmed that the app would be acceptable. There were also inconsistencies regarding parking. The listing stated that private parking was available with reservation, however later the host claimed that private parking was not available. The communication then became increasingly inappropriate. The host called me and repeatedly questioned who we were to each other, why three adults were travelling together, and stated multiple times that they “do not like hosting groups of friends,” that “parties are not allowed,” and that “this is their house and they do not rent it to just anyone.” At no point did we indicate any intention to violate house rules, organize parties, or behave improperly. Eventually the host stated over the phone that they would cancel the booking because “we cannot cooperate,” encouraged me to leave a negative review on Booking.com because they “mainly use Airbnb anyway,” and hung up the phone. Despite this, the reservation itself was never properly cancelled. The host continued telling Booking.com customer service that the accommodation was available and that there was no issue with the reservation. On the day of arrival, at the agreed check-in time, while we were standing in front of the property, the host mockingly told me over the phone to “talk to Booking.com customer service,” then hung up and stopped answering calls completely. We were ultimately denied access to the accommodation and had to cancel the entire trip.
