Our stay did not match what we booked, and the condition of the unit was disappointing.
We booked a unit with a four-poster bed but were given a different one. We were also placed at a different address from the one booked because of works on the building entry. None of this was communicated to us at the time of booking. There were exposed live electrical wires in the lounge room. The fridge door couldn’t be closed without being forced, the dishwasher was loosely fitted, and the oven was missing its controller knob. The glass side table in the lounge was missing a stabilising foot and rocked. The bathroom door handle was also broken, making the door hard to open from the inside, which is a real worry when travelling with children. The unit showed many signs of wear that had not been repaired. These included an unfinished plaster patch beside the internet router, a damaged kitchen cupboard and drawer, a damaged lounge sofa (a piece missing from a cushion and a broken back), a damaged bedroom window bench, a damaged lounge wall, and damage and dirt on the wall near the oven. The cupboard lights also didn’t work. The unit was not properly cleaned. The bathroom and kitchen wall tiles were dirty, and there were scuff marks on the lounge, bedroom and bathroom walls. The air conditioning vents and ceiling had white marks, lint and dust, and the skirting boards were dirty throughout. The oven still had rice and grease residue, the vacuum cleaner provided hadn’t been emptied, and a broom/mop handle was left in the bathroom without its attachment. Overall, the combination of a unit different from what was booked, exposed wiring, and the general state of repair and cleanliness made this a poor experience.
