CBD but not 'elegant'
The location was good.
Words like 'elegant', 'boutique', 'luxury' are so overused these days they should be ignored. We believe this 'Elegant CBD' apartment is a good example. Comfortable, yes, but not elegant (in our opinion). We found it a little soulless. We had a problem with the LG TV. No free streaming service (eg Netflix) is offered. Not a problem as we subscribe to Neon, but the Neon app wasn't pre-loaded and we were unable to load it without a password. Casting it didn't work (streaming was bad). We reported the problem immediately, but no solution was offered over the three days we were there. It would have been a quick and easy fix, but we just kept getting marketing speak: 'sorry for the inconvenience', 'thank you for your patience and understanding', 'we need to speak to someone'. We travel a lot and have never encountered this problem before. We also run an Airbnb ourselves, and if one of our guests had experienced a similar problem we would have done everything we could to sort it quickly. Perhaps that's the difference between a private host and a corporate host. Other small niggles: mouldy smelling bathrooms (both interior without windows), a fridge at the end if the kitchen counter, next to the entrance door, that opens the wrong way so you have to walk around the door to get anything out, softish beds, no privacy - the apartment overlooks a parking lot in one direction and onto wheelie bins and other people's windows in the other direction (a developer's design problem), a TV remote that will drive you insane, no free parking (couldn't the owners lease a space in the lot next door and then charge, if necessary, just for the convenience?). Christchurch is now full of these apartments, so there are plenty of options available. Competition will become fierce. We stayed in a fabulous apartment a month ago - without the problems we encountered here - for the same price in a better location.

Was a good experience overall.
Property wasn’t too far to walk from city which was good. Clean and tidy :) Everything there you need.
Not a didn’t like….just was a little too light to sleep as all the bedrooms have blinds but not curtains so a lot of light gets in. Third storey could use a blind so you don’t have to shut the door to try and sleep. Also the shower on second floor was broken prior to us arriving.
