The room was exceptional 2 double bed a big bathroom with separate bath and shower. Hotel in lovely surroundings with the golf course. The pool and spa were lovely, and we enjoyed the steam room. The hotel was lovely and catered also for my little dog. we have room 4 which looked over the golf course and saw many squirrels running around. The food which we enjoyed breakfast is both a cooked choice off menu and a lovely selection of buffet from fruits yoghurt prasties toast and cereal. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We chose the Tuesday night to eat in restaurant. My partner had the market fish, and he said it was delicious and would definitely recommend it. I had the Thai curry which was a very big portion, and tasted nice, not too spicy. We both had pudding my partner had sticky toffee pudding, which comes with ice cream he said it was tasty, but due to the big portion sizes, he said he felt a bit sickly. I have the cheese board. Again, very big portions. The stay was lovely the have a separate area so you can enjoy your meals which your pets. We will definitely be back.

    Lovely couples retreat

We had a lovely stay at Effordleigh Hotel. The deluxe room was beautiful, with a fantastic view, and our meal in the restaurant was very nice. A special mention to Lisa on front of house, who was absolutely amazing, so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. She really made our experience extra special. Overall, we had a great stay and would like to say a big thank you to Lisa for making us feel so welcome. She is a real credit to the hotel!

The only slight disappointment was breakfast, as it was very busy with wedding guests and there was no food left on the hotplate. However, we made do with what was available. The Spa area could do with modernising

Comfortable stay in country hotel with very friendly staff. Lovely Spa with pool and jacuzzi.

Very friendly welcoming reception staff, easy to access Spa facilities. Easy parking. Comfy beds

Breakfast - disappointing selection maybe fruit compote, granola, seeds etc ? We asked for natural yogurt (3 times) and were still eating our cereal/fruit etc when our poorly presented cooked breakfast arrived. Would have also appreciated a light snack menu being available from the bar in the evening as didn't really want a large meal.

    Absolute perfection

An outstanding experience, we had competed in the Great North Run and had to take daughter home to Plympton. The Hotel was aware that our check in would be around 12.30am the next morning and they waited for us where as other hotels could only wait no longer than 10pm. An outstanding service. Everything was superb and the breakfast was delicious
