Good accommodation with a private pool and a beautiful view, but it is not a detached villa — it is
Excellent sea view and a very good terrace area. The pool was clean and used by our unit only — for the children it was the best part of the holiday. The interior is spacious, the kitchen fully equipped, bed linen and towels were changed. The owner responds quickly and politely — he replied to us the same day and took action. The location is quiet, about 2 km from the centre of Elounda, with our own parking space.
The main issue is that the property does not match the type stated in the listing. The booking and the listing describe a “detached villa”, but in reality this is an apartment in a building of six units. There is another rental unit directly above ours, a further one above that, and the other section of the same building is rented under a different name (“Villa Calypso”); both properties are shown on the same sign in the shared parking area. On the second night, the guests in the unit above were noisy from 22:00 until after midnight and we could not sleep — which is exactly what you expect to avoid when you choose a detached villa and pay a villa rate. The accommodation itself is good, but as an apartment in a shared building, not as a villa.

Elounda was a great town with plenty of restaurants. shops and trips from the port. The Villa was located up on the hill so there was great views out to the sea. The villas pool was also tended to every day so it was ready for use, well equipped with everything you'll need for a self catering stay and the management team were responsive and very accommodating. Next doors villa was partitioned off and there wasn't a noise from any other residents so it felt very private and quiet. A car is an absolute must.
