    Nice location, bed was comfortable, kitchen was well equipped

    The TV was useless, it kept going off and making strange noise, had to turn it off and back on,to make it work ,then it would last an hour before you have to do it again, heating in living room did not work ,the settee was small and uncomfortable, not worth the money, we have stayed in well better for less money with better facilities, ie smart TV, and central heating, and good wifi .

    We recently stayed at Elterwater Park Guest House in The Grain Store, and unfortunately, our experience wasn’t as enjoyable as we had hoped. The biggest issue was the strong smell of damp and mould throughout the room, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The carpet also appeared to be full of dog hair and generally felt like it was well past the point of needing replacement. The crockery provided also needed cleaning before we could use it, which was disappointing and not something we would expect from guest accommodation. Overall, The Grain Store felt quite tired and run down. It would really benefit from some general maintenance and investment, including a new carpet, repainting where there are obvious signs of damp, and replacing blown light bulbs. More importantly, it felt as though the property was lacking a little pride in its upkeep and presentation. We appreciate that older properties can have their quirks, but for the price of the stay, we expected a much cleaner, fresher and better-maintained room. There is certainly potential for the accommodation to be much better with some attention and investment.
